Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Miami
Gama Filho Martial Arts teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to adults and kids from our academy on Coral Way. Our family has been part of Brazilian martial arts since 1939, and every class is run by black belt instructors.
What you'll train here
Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art built on leverage, position and timing. Classes follow a structured curriculum: a warm-up, technique broken down step by step, drilling with a partner and, when you're ready, live training.
We run Gi and No-Gi classes for adults, plus age-based kids programs starting at 3 years old. You can see every class on our schedule.
Who trains with us
Most of our students walked in with no experience. Others trained years ago and wanted to come back. Adult classes are open to students 14 and up, and beginners are paired with experienced partners who help them learn safely.
Families are a big part of the academy. Parents often train in the adult program while their children train in theirs, and people here get to know each other by name.
Training on Coral Way
The academy is at 2750 Coral Way, Suite 204, a short drive for students coming from Coral Gables, Brickell, Coconut Grove and the surrounding neighborhoods. Your first class is free, so the easiest way to see if it fits is to come try it.
